Key Meeting Highlights of Testlpt Punjab Scheme
A high-level meeting, led by Provincial Minister for Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, was held to finalize the scheme’s rules and procedures. The meeting was attended by Parliamentary Secretary for Higher Education Ajmal Chandio and Higher Education Department (HED) Secretary Dr. Farrukh Naveed. The following decisions were made:
- The registration process will be handled by educational institutions, which will submit data to the Higher Education Commission (HEC) Punjab for validation.
- Final merit lists will be prepared and announced after scrutiny.
- The web portal launch date, application review process, and distribution schedule will be confirmed soon.
Eligibility Criteria for the CM Punjab Laptop Scheme 2025
To qualify for the scheme, students must meet the following requirements:
- Age Limit: Under 22 years old.
- Domicile: Must be a resident of Punjab.
- Family Income: Less than Rs. 300,000 per year.
- Academic Performance: A strong academic record is essential, and some students may be required to pass an online exam.
Merit Criteria for Laptop Distribution
Laptops will be distributed based on merit, with the following academic performance requirements:

Categories Eligible for Laptop Distribution
The following groups of students will receive laptops:
- First-year students of 4-year BS programs in Medical, Dental, Engineering, Agriculture, Veterinary, and Technology Colleges with the required academic percentage.
- First-year students in 2-year Master’s programs who meet the merit criteria.
- Remaining evening students from last year’s scheme who were declared eligible.
- Top 100 students from Provincial, Technical, and Federal Boards (Matric and Intermediate).
- Top 400 students from Matric and Intermediate exams from other provinces, AJK, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
- New MS, M.Phil., and PhD scholars from public sector universities in Punjab.
- Top 10 students from each department of public sector federal universities in Islamabad and their regional campuses in Punjab.
- 4,000 laptops for Deeni Madaris students, as per criteria approved by the Chief Minister.
Punjab CM Laptop Scheme for Virtual University (VU) Students
The Punjab government has also included Virtual University (VU) students in the scheme. The eligibility and merit criteria remain the same, ensuring equal opportunities for online learners.
